Mykonos

A few words about Mykonos

The island of diversity and surprises, different cultures and civilizations, of intellect, of high aesthetics and art.

In the beginning of the 60s Mykonos, which till then used to be a forgotten dot on the map, turned into one of the most popular and cosmopolitan destinations of the Mediterranean.

The simple and charming cycladic colour of Mykonos, consisting of the white cubic houses, built of stone, as well as the cobbled streets, is a major attraction for the lovers of architecture.

Beaches

Paradise (Kalamopodi)
One of the best-known beaches of Mykonos mainly for youngsters. All the season?s hits are playing at full volume and the parties go on twenty-four hours a day. It has beach umbrellas, deck-chairs, a lifeguard, shops, mini-markets, restaurants and first aid. It offers water sports and diving schools. Back from the beach you can find Paradise, the largest and best-organized camping site on Mykonos.

Paranga
This is one of the smallest, most beautiful and picturesque beaches on the island. It has beach umbrellas, deck-chairs, bars and restaurants.

An alternative solution is to have a dip in the swimming-pool of Café Paranga, one of the best organized camping sites on the island, which you will find at the beginning of the beach, and then enjoy a cocktail next to the pool.

Platys Yialos
This is one of the best-known beaches on the island with golden sand and wonderfully clear waters. It is ideal fully organized with beach umbrellas, deck-chairs, water sports, restaurants and hotels.

Psarou
This is one of the cosmopolitan beaches of the island with turquoise waters and fine sand. Mainly Greek tourists, most of who are from the world of show business, gather here. It has beach umbrellas, deck-chairs and water sport facilities (scuba diving, windsurfing etc.). Enjoy a drink or a meal at the well known restaurant of Angeletakis, or on the beach since there is a beach delivery service.

Super Paradise
This is one of the most magical beaches on the island with cold, clear blue waters and fine golden sand. It is one of the most cosmopolitan beaches where you can see actors on the climb and paparazzi.

The bar-restaurant on the shore is impressive with its swimming-pool, many bars and a self-service, where the DJ starts another mad party each afternoon at about five o?clock.

Vathia Langada
One of the most remote beaches on the island with no organization. It is hard to get to but its wild beauty will compensate you. Make sure you have water with you just in case.
